Lesson 31 -
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
Who are you?
For me, this quote is about embracing the individuality and uniqueness within us. We are all unique, each and every one of us, even identical twins. While they may look the same, they may even act the same, each have their own strengths and weaknesses, their own wants and desires.
We may look up to another, want to be like them, but we should not try too hard to be a carbon copy of them, because being that person is their job!
In order to be yourself, you need to know who you are, what are your beliefs, your values, your goals and dreams, what you stand for and stand against. If you are missing those things, you have voids, empty spaces that long for something to fill them.
Rather than attempting to be someone else, work on yourself. Work out what your values and beliefs are, what someone would be said about you when your name is mentioned in conversation. Knowing who you really are and what you stand for is far more important than any titles.
Then (and this is the important bit) be more like that person, be your strengths, be your weaknesses, your goals and dreams be anything and everything that makes you who you are! Be you, not someone else.
