Lesson 20 -
There is no as failure, only feedback
Failing is, quite simply, the first attempt in learning.
To judge any results as a success or a failure will depend upon the context in which they occur and what the desired outcome was.
For lesson 20, I have chosen that there is no as failure, only feedback. When we adopt this mindset, it provides us with opportunities that enable us to make changes that can lead to future success, that provide opportunities to learn, to develop and evolve. It gifts us with the opportunity to grow.
We are a product of our experiences; both good and bad. We are the sum total of all that has happened in our lives, all of our achievements and all of the times we didn’t quite make it. The imperfect parts of us play just as an important part in defining who we will become, as the perfect parts.
In the words of Soren Kierkegaard “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards”
What can be viewed as a failure can just as easily be viewed as successfully learning what doesn’t work. Embracing that there is no failure only feedback, opens us up to the possibility of choice, the opportunities to change context, and the choice to identify how to make changes so that the feedback changes to the desired outcome.
