Lesson 12 -

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

A plan is your road map, your target, guide and strategy, it’s your commitment to be somewhere by some time. Without one, your plan is a dream.

Plans keep you on course to your destination, they provide structure. Without a plan you could face situations where you have to make decisions and find yourself drifting off course.

To be a success you need a plan of where you’re going. With no plan it would be like trying to win the lottery without first buying a ticket! A plan is your commitment that you are not going to just sit back and wait for something to happen; you are going to take action to make it happen.

Without a plan your life may feel like it’s out of control. A plan is something you’re going to do, not something you want to do. Your plan is fallback position. When life gets complicated and things are thrown at you, it means that when the dust settles you can look at your plan and see what you were doing and get yourself back on course.

Just because you have a plan, it doesn’t mean you have to stick to it, circumstances change, you change and at times your plan will have to change. The details of the plan don’t matter, having one does!

So, my 12th lesson is, failing to plan is planning to fail.
